Pious

Carpious Mightson has built a life that looks clean and admirable, a life shaped by charm, devotion, and the quiet confidence of a man who seems to walk in the light. Beneath that polished surface lives a secret that stains every choice he makes, a secret that begins to tremble when Ian Kaplan, a registered sex offender, moves into the neighborhood and stirs the shadows Carpious has tried to outrun.

As the community grows uneasy, a brutal murder shatters the quiet streets, and Carpious feels the world he constructed slipping through his fingers. His ex-wife returns with memories he hoped would stay buried, and every step he takes feels watched by something he cannot name. The past begins to rise, and Carpious must face whether the truth he hid will come for him now, or whether the darkness he carries will swallow everything he has tried to protect.
